I Just Find It Amusing That You Came From Somewhere

Ok! Brief pre-blog catch up.

Movies I've watched today:

The Public Enemy -------------------Grosse Pointe Blank

The Public Enemy (No, not Public Enemies) was decent for an early 30s gangster film. And Grosse Pointe Blank was awesome! Yet another wonderfully quirky Cusack film. 4 Stars for the first and 5 for the second.

Next on my list to watch: -------------------->

Which I have seen, and can already tell you is definitely a 5-star movie.

Also, Lauren just showed me this:

And I thought How cool! An orange T-shirt!

:::Gold Stars for Reference Recollection!:::

And lastly in the catch-up is the fact that I'm blogging in order to delay the beginning of my studying for a psych exam tomorrow. So it might end up being a long post depending on whether or not some sense of responsibility wells up inside me within the next hour...
Anyway
Let's talk about a few things. Starting today with:

Facebook LATELY
What the shit happened to the streamlined, cleaner flow of New Facebook??? EVERY SINGLE element that was supposed to make our lives easier has Turned On Us.
We'll start at CHAT because it's the most obvious issue and everybody is beginning to realize that it's becoming completely unusable. Like how earlier today when I opened a chat and typed a greeting to someone and facebook opened 4 more chat windows with the same person, none of which loaded properly, and then the whole thing just stopped working all together.

Also, last week, Facebook told me every hour of every day that I had a group invite. An invite that, every timed it was clicked, did absolutely nothing. And it was driving me crazy!

Earlier today, when I got on facebook after class and had 6 notifications, and I was like "Oh yes. Something awesome happened." So I clicked the

(except with a 6!) And lo and behold! 5 of the 6 notifications were the exact same event. reported 5 times... wtf

And then this thing... that has been on my nerves for about a month now. I don't know if anyone else's does this. But when I'm at my news feed and new information comes up so I click that little "Show # new posts" clicky, it does show me the new info.
BUT THEN if I refresh the page, they are gone and we've gone back to the previous news feed. And if I refresh again, They're BACK!!! And then if I refresh again, they're goooooneeeee. And so on and so forth back and forth like that and I hate it.

I'm sure you all have your own facebook qualms and I would love to hear about them.
But I am moving onto today's Positive.

<----- THIS GIRL

Don't worry, this won't just be a long, affectionate listing of her awesome qualities

-like how she's an amazing actress

-and how she's marrying my favorite singer/lyricist

-and how beautiful she is

-and how great 500 Days of Summer was

But instead, I'm actually going to state my valid opinions on the subject of Zooey. Opinions on when I love her in movies, and when I'm merely favorable toward her.

The thing about Zooey is that people see her as this sort of loopy, charming, goofy girl. She goes for the cute demeanor moreso than the sexy. (Not to say she's not sexy, but definitely more cute.) But people see that side of her and decide to put her in roles that fit it, but that also don't take the acting all that deep. SUCH AS:

Trillian in Hitchhiker's Guide
---------------------- DG in Tin Man

Allison in Yes Man ---------------------- and Alma in The Happening

While I still love Zooey in these roles, I don't think they really capture her true acting spirit. She can (especially in Tin Man) take on an expressionless tone and become a strange character who doesn't seem to fit perfectly when she's placed in a ridiculous role.

and ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE SPECTRUM are the roles where the director realizes when Zooey can really just hit the audience hard and unexpectedly. Instead of using those big blue eyes to be whimsical and goofy, she uses them to pierce. Pools of passion and emotion.

Especially as:

Noel in All the Real Girls -----------------and Summer in (500) Days of Summer

She is absolutely phenomenal in both of those movies, both of which are in my top 5 movies ever. So watch them and watch her.

I would like to note, however, that I LOVE Zooey as a goofier character if she isn't in a lead role.

Kit in Failure to Launch -------------------- and KAT (How cool is that?!) in Weeds

OK THAT WAS EPIC PROCRASTINATION AND I HAVE TO STOP!!! GOODNIGHT!
